Summer Camp 2018 - In Ross Valley

Coming Soon: Summer Camp 2019!  Come Join Us!

Summer is for fun and we have lots of fun in store just for preschoolers -- 2 1/2 to 6 years of age -- at First Friends located in downtown Fairfax.

Each two week session will be organized around a particular theme. We will read books and do projects related to our theme. Additionally, materials for our practical life, sensorial, math, language and art shelves, as well as the sensory bin and play dough will also reflect each session's  theme. For each session, we will invite a visitor into our school to make a theme-related presentation or the session will culminate with a theme-related celebration. Our projects are very hands on and include: cooking, art creations, science experiments and dramatic play. Our goal is to have fun, be creative and learn!

Open your child's eyes to the world of Mother Nature. We will learn about the importance of bugs and how they relate to our  everyday lives and the Planet Earth. We will explore the life cycle of the butterfly, parts of the insect, planting seeds and create a potted garden.

Session Three:  Our Favorite Books and Stories

Monday July 30th to Friday August 10th

These two weeks are all about our favorite books and stories!  We will set up a lending library in our classroom, write and illustrate our own camp story, do puppet shows, tell stories of our own creation and of course read lots and lots of books and do many interesting and fun projects relating to them.

Session Four: Wild Camping

Monday August 13th to Friday August 24th

We will finish up our summer camp with an outdoor adventure into camping. In addition to learning about compasses, maps and animal tracks, we will make traditional camping cooking projects and transform our play structure into a tent for "glamping"

Please let us know if you need morning extended care from 8a-9a and afternoon extended care from 3p-5p. We will offer these programs if more students sign up.
