Summer Camp 2017 - In Ross Valley

The 2017 Summer Camp is Here!  Come Join Us!

Summer is for fun and we have lots of fun in store just for preschoolers -- 2 1/2 to 6 years of age -- at First Friends located in downtown Fairfax.

Each two week session will be organized around a particular theme. We will read books and do projects related to our theme. Additionally, materials for our practical life, sensorial, math, language and art shelves, as well as the sensory bin and play dough will also reflect each session's  theme. For each session, we will invite a visitor into our school to make a theme-related presentation or the session will culminate with a theme-related celebration. Our projects are very hands on and include: cooking, art creations, science experiments and dramatic play. Our goal is to have fun, be creative and learn!

Tuesday July 5th to Friday July 14th

Join us as we spend our days playing with COLOR.  We will explore the art and science of rainbows, through a multitude of hands-on projects including weaving, collaging, color mixing, painting and drawing.

Session Two:  Space Odyssey

Monday July 17th to Friday July 28th

3...2...1... BLAST OFF!  We will spend these two weeks exploring space and our solar system.  We will make models of planets, create our own constellations, make rockets and make and play with "moon Sand" and "space slime" and turn our play structure into a space station!

Session Three:  Our Favorite Books and Stories

Monday July 31st to Friday August 11th

These two weeks are all about our favorite books and stories!  We will set up a lending library in our classroom, write and illustrate our own camp story, do puppet shows, tell stories of our own creation and of course read lots and lots of books and do many interesting and fun projects relating to them.

Session Four: Ocean Exploration

Monday August 14th to Friday August 25th

We will spend these last two weeks of summer Under the Sea, exploring the many amazing creatures of the ocean.  We will engage in lots of water play, turn our sand box into a "beach" and learn about fish, sea mammals and life on the coral reef through books and hands-on art projects.

Please let us know if you need morning extended care from 8a-9a and afternoon extended care from 3p-4p. We will offer these programs if more students sign up.
